To see the startup status of the http task, stop Notes and Designer. Then start it again, but, don't preview anything yet. Then go to a DOS command prompt window and change to your Notes program directory (eg, cd c:\notes). Type in "nhttp preview". You will see various messages about the http task starting. See if any error messages appear.

Also, I assume you have Notes 8? There was a preview problem with 6.5.4.
